Man Helps A Teacher With A Hurtful Past In This Heartwarming Video

Anna is a native New Yorker who loves concerts, travel, good coffee, and her Jack Russell terrier, Charlie. She’s a multimedia journalist who earned her master’s degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. Her true passion for telling stories keeps her inspired.

Sometimes there’s more to a person than meets the eye. That’s certainly what TV host Leon Logothetis discovered during one encounter on his #GoBeKind tour for his effort to find Good Samaritans around the world.

While in St. Louis, MO, Leon met a woman named Janet who dedicates her whole life to children.

Now we’ve seen several of Leon’s heartwarming encounters before, including a homeless man trying to turn his life around and a blind man making a difference all in partnership with Trivago. But, Janet’s moment is a very emotional one.

“I saw a woman with gray hair and a warm smile. But behind her kind eyes, I saw a pain she tried to hide from the world,” Leon explains in the video.

Working in an early-childhood setting, Janet commits her life to helping kids. It’s a job she enjoys with all her heart.

“Some days that’s the only thing that gets me up and gets me going,” Janet says. “Makes me almost feel like that’s how the presence of God is.”

But, then we learn of a devastating memory from Janet’s past that brings her to tears.

As he does with all the kindhearted people he meets on the tour, Leon gave Janet $1,000. Her reaction might just bring you to tears, too.
