A woman in Coachella, California, had no clue she was being filmed by security cameras when she pulled up to a dumpster behind an auto parts store.
It was a brutally hot day when the woman opened the dumpster, peered down inside, and drove off in her Jeep after throwing a bag into the bin.
Inside the bag? Seven. Newborn. Puppies.
Thank God a Good Samaritan discovered the bag before it was too late, and an employee from the auto store called animal services. An animal rescue team quickly arrived and provided instant care to the 3-day-old terrier mixes. After some bottles of milk and lots of love, the seven puppies were miraculously on the mend.
Chris Mayer, Riverside County Animal Services commander, called the woman’s actions “despicable.” He promised a swift and severe manhunt and punishment… but first they had to identify her.
“There is no excuse for dumping puppies,” Chris said, according to ABC 10 News. “Especially in today’s age when we or other shelters would be willing to get these animals to foster parents or rescue partners.”
At the same time, the man who discovered the puppies inside the dumpster is being hailed a hero. If it wasn’t for him, the adorable pups probably would not be here today.
The police department shared the security footage on social media, where it went viral. Celebrities like Olivia Munn shared the video with their tens of thousands of followers to help aid in the search.
As you’re about to see, the woman is now getting what she deserves.
