The Wizard of Oz is one of those movies that will always stand the test of time. Although it was released nearly eight decades ago, new generations continue to discover the classic film and fall in love with it.

As with many “old-time” things, younger kids like to put their own spin on classics.

Take the Walden Grove High dance team: for their homecoming pep rally, they decided to recreate The Wizard of Oz using modern pop songs.

The video was posted to YouTube on September 29, 2017, and has already exceeded 1.4 million views. You’ll see why so many people are obsessed with it when you watch the clip below!

In the full video, the dance team mouths along to quotes directly from the movie as part of their performance. But what got the entire audience riled up was their interpretation of The Wizard of Oz through modern songs that the students could sing along to.

Each character was designated with their own tune. For example, The Cowardly Lion’s track was “Roar” by Katy Perry, and a scene between Dorothy and the Witch was soundtracked by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.”

This isn’t the first time the dance team has created a choreographed dance based on a movie. In 2016, they did a Pixar dance routine that included many animated movies from Disney’s Pixar, and it has received over 1.6 million views.

Please SHARE this post on Facebook with family and friends if you loved the dance routine.
