Temperatures are dropping and forecasts predict that much of the country will be covered in snow until further notice.

Winter is beautiful, but it can also be dangerous. Slippery ice, foggy windshields, and freezing temperatures can threaten both our comfort and safety.

Luckily, there are a number of ways to combat the cold. These winter hacks are sure to keep you warm and in one piece until the thaw.

Since getting in and out of the shower is particularly unpleasant in the cold, we could all use something to make bath time a little more appealing.

Try making some winter-themed bath bombs to make bathing more exciting this winter. Chances are, you already have all the materials you’ll need in your house.

Of course, the only thing more unpleasant than getting out of a hot shower is having to battle the elements outside. To avoid slipping on ice or having to change in and out of clunky snow boots, try applying screws to the bottom of your favorite shoes for traction. Another measure you might want to take is spraying your snow shovel with nonstick spray, which helps prevent the formation of clumps.

More than half the battle is staying warm. Learn how to make a personal space heater using candles, or homemade hand warmers by watching the video below.
