In nearly every litter of kittens, you’ll find several common characteristics. Some of the kittens may look like their mother, some like their father.

Each litter usually has a runt of the group.

There’s one thing, however, you might miss altogether if you don’t look closely enough. Some kittens are born with a condition called heterochromia.

Aloş, a Turkish Van cat, is one of them. Cats with heterochromia are often referred to as odd-eyed cats because one of their eyes is colored differently than the other.

Odd-eyed cats are typically white and often have one blue eye and one green, yellow, or brown eye. Aloş has one blue eye and one green eye, and the combination is absolutely captivating.

This cat’s unique look has caught the attention of thousands around the world, and it’s easy to see why.

This is Aloş. He is a Turkish Van cat that has captured the attention of people around the world. Just one look at him, and you’ll understand the reason.

The cross-eyed kitty was born with something known as heterochromia. The condition is caused by a melanin deficiency and is common in cats his type and color.

Although the condition is common among his kind, you have to admit there isn’t a cat out there with eyes quite as vibrant as his. Aloş’s owner, Burcu Kaynak, absolutely adores the cat’s unique features.

“His eyes are the most beautiful in the world to me,” Kaynak told Bored Panda. We would have to agree!

Not everyone knows, but all kittens are born with blue eyes. As they age, the melanin changes their eyes to a yellow, copper, or green color. Cats with Aloş’s condition only experience the color change in one eye.

There is a common misconception that odd-eyed cats are always born deaf in one ear. This is not the case, however; white cats with one or two blue eyes often do have a higher chance of genetic deafness.

Luckily for Aloş, the only side effect he’s experienced is internet fame. He has over 10,000 followers on social media!
