In fact, this amazing English family is fully realizing my vintage dream — living every part of their life like they’re actually in the 1940’s! I wish I could do the same with my house!
That’s why, when I saw this cute little retro vacation home in Oregon, I knew I had to take a peek!
Designer by trade, Sarah Phipps fell in love with this 1940’s home despite its original state of disrepair. Even with the shag carpeting, horrifying heater, and peeling paperboard walls, “I always see what it looks like in the end,” Sarah shared.
Spending only a nominal amount on the renovation, Sarah completely transformed the ramshackle space into a total vintage fairytale. By preserving some of the original elements of the house and adding her own unique flair, Sarah created this adorable vacation home and wants you to stay!

With original vintage hardware and farmhouse sink, the unique little kitchen is the perfect place to do some serious baking. The light shade of mint green and the mix of colorful prints and designs only add to the authenticity.
