Here’s a story guaranteed to melt your heart…and hopefully make you think about adoption a little differently!

The ASPCA estimates that there are about 3.4 million stray cats in shelters across the United States. They have a tough time finding homes for all of these cats in need, which is why it takes a very loving and caring person to welcome a cat into their home. Here at LittleThings, we like to celebrate all of the amazing people out their who share their stories in hopes of inspiring others to make a difference. However, this next adoption story has a beautiful twist and proves that sometimes animals can be just as loving as humans!

In the following video, posted by Animal Tales and translated (roughly) from German to English, we learn of a family who adopted an adorable grey cat named Vince. Months later, the family found out about Amy, a tiny kitten who’s mother was hit by a car and was left orphaned, homeless, and disabled. They decided to take the tiny kitten in as a foster…until something incredible happened.

Immediately, Vince accepted the tiny kitten as his own baby, and after a few weeks of cleaning her up and nursing her back to health, Vince refused to let the baby go. Now these two adopted cats are inseparable and have each other for life!
