Tyler Perry is bringing the Christmas joy early this year for a number of lucky Walmart patrons in Georgia.

The wildly successful director took to Instagram to announce that as of December 6 at 9:30 a.m., all of the layaway items at two Walmart locations in Douglasville and Atlanta, Georgia, have been paid for — by Tyler Perry himself, of course.

At first, he wished to remain anonymous; however, Tyler was just happy to be able to help those in need this holiday season and wrote two monster-sized checks totaling $430,000.

“If you have a layaway at the Walmart at 844 Cleveland Ave.

in East Point, Georgia, in Atlanta,” he said in a video posted to Instagram, “or if you have a layaway at the Walmart at 7001 Concourse Parkway in Douglasville, Georgia… if you have a layaway at either place, and it was in there as of 9:30 this morning… I have paid for all of your layaways for Christmas. So Merry Christmas to everybody. You gotta go into your Walmart, get your layaway, pay a penny — 1 penny — and you get your layaway.”

“I know it’s a hard time, a lot of people are struggling,” he continued. “I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this, so God bless you. Go get your stuff. Merry Christmas.”

Tyler told ABC that he was inspired by a story he saw on Good Morning America on Thursday, in which New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson paid off over $100,000 of layaway items at a Walmart in New Orleans.

Wow, what a beautiful and selfless act of kindness this holiday season!
