There’s only a one-in-a-million chance, but a Michigan couple welcomed twin baby girls with two different skin colors.

It’s a medical rarity that has occurred for other families across the globe, including the English biracial twin sisters who also have different skin and hair colors. And it’s one that leaves parents in awe.

Briana Laws and her husband, Cameron, were stunned when they noticed the color difference of Aila and Adalynn around two weeks after they brought them home from the hospital. That is the same amount of time it took for the parents of another set of English twins to notice the same about their little ones.

“It’s kind of a big deal,” the mom told Michigan’s Fox 17. “They’re gems, they’re one in a million. It’s a special thing.”

The light-skinned fraternal twin has blue eyes and curly hair while the other baby girl has brown eyes and straight locks. And as it turns out, their temperament is just as different as their appearance.

“Aila is more quiet, she’s a lot more calm and she babbles more and she’s a little more clingy,” Laws said. “Adalynn has a temper, very boisterous.”
