Most drivers would be angry after getting pulled over, but not one North Carolina man.

The driver, Michael Green, was pulled over for speeding by state trooper Patrick Ellis.

As with any routine traffic stop, the trooper wrote up the ticket in his patrol car, but when he returned to driver, he was horrified by what he saw.

The passenger next to Michael was screaming hysterically, who was hunched over the steering wheel, motionless. He wasn’t breathing.

The quick-thinking officer called for an ambulance, and gave the man CPR until EMS arrived.

Three days later, Ellis received word that Michael had suffered a major heart attack, but was thankfully recovering in the hospital.

Now the state trooper is being called a hero because of his actions. He even received the Highway Patrol Samaritan Award for going above and beyond to help another!

He says about the ordeal, “You always revert back to your training. And at that point, I honestly didn’t know if what I was doing was the right thing, and it scared me and I was just as panicked as everyone else, but I knew I had to remain calm and keep the situation under control.”
