Going to the zoo is a fun way to see animals you wouldn’t see otherwise and observe how they interact with one another.

Visits to the zoo become extra special, though, when animals decide to interact with humans.

From tigers who love babies to sensitive orangutans who care for burn victims, animals in zoos have shown time and time again that they enjoy interacting with the humans who come to visit them.

According to Newsflare, a 3-year-old girl visited a zoo in Kerkrade in the Netherlands with her family back in 2015. The toddler seemed to enjoy exploring the zoo like many kids do — but she had a special moment while checking out the gorilla habitat.

In the clip below, the sweet toddler is about the same size as a baby gorilla who is hanging out near the glass, so she starts playing around, hoping to get his attention.

Not only does she get the gorilla’s attention, but the tiny primate actually starts playing with her. At one point, he even tries to hold her hand!

Luckily, a family member got the unbelievable interaction on video. It’s a great reminder of how sweet, caring, and understanding so many animals are!
