Tipsy With Miss Dixie: Jen Righi Bemoans Kids’ Craze About Technology

When I was a kid, the biggest craze was always some hot ticket toy, like Furbies or the Cabbage Patch Kids (remember those?).

I didn’t get a cell phone until well into my teens, and only really used it for emergencies. Those days were much different than today!

Now, kids go absolutely gaga for the most technologically advanced gadgets. The latest cell phones are what parents have to look forward to purchasing for birthdays and holidays. Now, we can’t imagine what life is like without them, even if this were just a few years ago!

Jen Righi knows the pain of getting — and paying for — her kids’ phones.

They may not be teenagers yet, but they’re already running up a bill of astronomical proportions. What could kids possibly be doing on their phones that is making paying for their phones so expensive?

Miss Dixie may not know the answer, but we’re sure that she understands Jen’s reasoning. Gone are the days when kids had no choice but to play outside and mingle with their peers.

Now, it almost feels like they’re glued to their devices.

How did your childhood differ from your kids’? What did you do to pass the time? Let us know in the comments below!

Please SHARE if you ask yourself the same questions Jen does, and if you think kids need to put down their phones and enjoy the weather!
