Woman’s Jaw Actually Drops When 300-Square-Foot Apartment Gets Makeover With Removable Wallpaper

by Lindsey Smith
Lindsey is from Florida and has worked in online and print media. Her happy place is Michaels craft store.

Instead of scrapping the oldest mall in America, located in Providence, Rhode Island, the empty storefronts were transformed into small apartments.

A woman named Carine lives in one of the 300-square-foot (you read that right!) apartments and was in desperate need of changing up the small space to offer more entertainment space.

Rachael Ray sent out her good friend, designer John Gidding, to help Carine out in updating the space.

Carine said one of her biggest struggles in the tiny home was finding somewhere for her friends to sit and eat. “Sometimes we just eat on the couch, or we stand here and eat over the counter,” she said. “If I had something that I could have like a spread… that would be awesome.”

John agreed that she had to get a lot out of such a small space and was excited to help her redecorate. Since it was a rental, John had an even bigger challenge because he couldn’t change the wall color or the built-ins. “We’ve got our challenge cut out for us!” John said.

The designer had a great tip for anyone renting: removable wallpaper. It can update a space without being permanent or damaging like real wallpaper and paint.

Watch the video below to see the entire amazing transformation and how Carine reacted to her redesigned small living space.
