I’ve heard of people trying to mail all sorts of strange things, but this is a new one for me.
The federal police of Mexico released several photos and a shocking story on February 7, 2018. Sharing the pictures to Facebook, they explained that their officials (with the help of K-9 officers) had discovered a tiger cub inside a taped-up box.
Inside Edition reports that the cub had been mailed from the western Mexico state of Jalisco and was being sent to an address in Santiago de Querétaro, a city in central Mexico.
The approximately 2-month-old Bengal tiger was surrounded by pieces of newspaper, which appeared to be meant as padding. The person who sent him out via express mail didn’t leave him with any food or water, though they did perforate the box to create air holes.
According to Inside Edition, the cub was dehydrated but was otherwise fine. He is currently being cared for by the natural resources department, and the case is still under investigation.
Thank goodness the tiger cub was rescued and is safe now!
