The National Zoo in Washington, D.C. posted a video on Saturday, January 23, of a giant male panda named Tian Tian enjoying the blizzard that’s sweeping through the Northeast.
So far, D.C. has reported one to two feet of snow. Winter Storm Jonas is causing a ton of cabin fever and headaches for humans, but it’s refreshing to watch animals like Tian Tian relishing in the first real sign of winter that many of us have seen all year.
The video was originally posted on the National Zoo’s twitter with the #blizzard2016 hashtag, and a short and sweet description: “Tian Tian woke up this morning to a lot of snow, and he was pretty excited about it.” As of 9 PM on Saturday, the post had been shared over 130,000 times, making it one of the National Zoo’s most viral tweets ever, and some commented that it was the best blizzard reaction that they’d seen all day – perhaps even better than this snowblower!
Avoid cabin fever by sharing this adorable panda with your family and friends!
