Wounded Warriors Family Support Project Paints Purple Lines For Special Veteran Parking Spots

Paul is a proud Southerner who enjoys long walks in the woods, sweet tea, and watching movies. He’s also an expert pastry chef and will share his rhubarb-berry pie recipe with just about anyone who asks. He loves America and playing with animals of all kinds. When he isn't writing about the things he loves most, you can find him in the great outdoors!

When veteran Bobby Woody was walking out of his local Lowe’s Home Improvement store, he saw something that made him stop right in his tracks. A simple sign in front of a parking space that informed all other drivers that that spot was reserved for wounded warriors only.

Along with some purple paint to outline the parking spot, this simple gesture truly touched his heart.

It turns out that many stores that appreciate their nation’s servicemen and women have begun to set up these parking spots specially reserved for Purple Heart recipients. Stores like Sam’s Club, Lowe’s, and the Home Depot have reached out to their community to show their support for our wounded veterans.

In a lot of these cases, the employees of these stores are veterans themselves who just want to show their fellow soldiers that their sacrifices have not been forgotten, and that they should be honored whenever possible.

Please check out some of these local photographs, and please SHARE this with your local stores if you think they should set up a purple spot parking space for your community’s wounded warriors!

Lowe's employees proudly went to work with paint rollers and purple paint! Two spaces in the front, and two spaces back near the garden center.

Both of the employees who did this have either served themselves or have had close family serve in the Marines!

Thankfully, this brilliant idea is beginning to spread! Local government buildings have joined in on this project; with plans to have a spot near city halls and libraries, this is an idea that every single American can get behind!
