Cameron Maramenides is a 16-year-old kitesurfer on Team USA. Recently, he brought his beloved Jack Russell terrier, Zeus, to a competition, just like he always does.
Cameron trained Zeus to kiteboard, and the athletic dog has become famous in his own right.
During the competition, however, someone stole Zeus and fled. Cameron and his family were absolutely devastated. They did everything they could to track him down, from hiring a pet detective to offering a hefty reward.
Fox 13 aired a story about Zeus’ kidnapping, and a young electrician named Miguel Camacho was one of the many viewers to sympathize with Cameron’s broken heart.
Later on, Miguel went to a local park and noticed a man stepping out of his car with a small dog that looked just like the dog from the news story.
That’s when the Good Samaritan stepped up in a big way.
Not only did Miguel follow the man out of the park, but when the driver finally stopped to ask why he was being followed, Miguel confronted him head-on.
“I believe that dog isn’t yours,” Miguel told the thief.
At this point, Miguel had called Cameron’s phone number, which was listed on the missing posters. Over the phone, Cameron instructed Miguel to call his dog’s name, hoping it would confirm the pup’s identity.
“Zeus!” Miguel called out. And with that, the stolen pup leaped from the man’s car and went running to Miguel.
It was fate; now this lucky pup is reunited with his grateful dad.
