Carrie Porter was 17 years old when she gave birth to her daughter, Aria. For the past year, the young mom from Missouri has been struggling to pay the bills and put food on the table for her and her baby.

Carrie is working hard to become as independent as possible.

She says Aria absolutely loves all things Christmas. Despite her current hardships and financial struggles, Carrie is determined to make the holiday season as memorable as possible for her. So she brought Aria to her local Bass Pro Shops since the store was offering free photos with Santa.

However, the store was about to close, and there were still so many people in line ahead of them.

Carrie took Aria to the mall instead, but she knew these photos would cost her.

She scraped together as much money as she could and looked for the cheapest photo package possible.

After Carrie and Aria posed for their photos with Santa, the photographer handed her the bill.

“Merry Christmas,” she told Carrie.

But when Carrie took a closer look at the receipt — and the photo package they’d been given — she couldn’t believe it.
