Zachary Latham, 18, was living with his grandparents and serving as a New Jersey National Guard private when his life took a sudden turn.
Two years back, the teenager began feuding with his neighbor, 51-year-old William T. “Timmy” Durham.
According to reports, it all began when Durham and his family kept seeing Latham driving erratically through their suburban neighborhood.
What began was a dispute that publicly played out for months on social media.
Latham started to record and share multiple exchanges with the Durham family to TikTok. One of these videos garnered 3 million views.
The feud came to a fatal head in May 2020, when Latham allegedly swerved his car toward Durham’s 17-year-old son.
Later, Durham and his family came onto Latham’s property to confront him about it, and Durham’s wife captured the heated encounter on her cellphone.
During a bloody brawl, Latham allegedly shot Durham with a stun gun and stabbed him several times. Durham later died at the hospital from his injuries.
While Latham argued he acted in self-defense, the Durhams insist the teen instigated the whole thing — and he had set out to become a social media sensation.
