It’s Time To Stop Shaming Moms And Start Supporting Them For Doing The Best They Can

As humans, it’s only natural that we sometimes get frustrated over situations we can’t control, like a screaming toddler on an airplane or a mom breastfeeding in public. However, what we can control is how we react to these situations — and reacting negatively will only make it worse.

In this episode of Truth Bomb Mom, Kristina Kuzmic pleads with onlookers to keep their thoughts and dirty looks to themselves when it comes to struggling moms. Being a parent is hard enough, Kristina explains, but knowing that strangers are judging your parenting makes it that much worse.

“If you hear a baby crying in public or a toddler throwing an epic, award-winning tantrum right behind you, do not turn around and give that mother a judgmental look,” says Kristina. “Just invest in some earplugs. But do not make a struggling mom feel even worse than she’s already feeling.”

Whether it’s intentional or not, even fellow moms are guilty of shaming other moms for what they perceive as inferior parenting. However, what moms should be doing is supporting one another through what they know to be the most difficult job in the world — not tearing one another down!
