Imagine you’re the boss of a business. On a Friday morning, one of your employees hasn’t shown up. It’s going on 30 minutes without a sign of this person, and you’re starting to wonder what’s going on.
There are a number of excuses this employee might give you: they got sick, an emergency came up, or they got stuck in traffic because of a swan.
OK, maybe that last one sounds more than a bit far-fetched, but that’s exactly what happened to about 20 drivers in Leicester, England.
In the video below, a single-file line of 20 cars is brought to a halt as a tall, white swan takes his sweet time walking in front of them. Well, waddling in front of them is more like it!
The driver at the head of the line runs out of patience and gets out of his car to shoo the swan away. At first, it looks like the bird is going to comply, but once the man gets back in his car, the swan just carries on with his casual shuffle at the head of the line.
“It looked like something out of a cartoon,” said Harsh Patel, who was attending the University nearby at the time and witnessed the hilarious traffic jam.
