Paul and Lisa Getz got married in April 2016 in Philadelphia. They already expected it to be the most special day of their lives, but the happy couple had no idea they were in the presence of the greatest wedding singer imaginable — courtesy of Lisa’s doting dad.
Dave, the father of the bride, was the only person who knew what was about to happen in the moments following his speech. He pulled Lisa onto the dance floor for a traditional father-daughter dance. As the pair chatted and shuffled along, the entire room was shocked by the wedding crasher.
The surprise was revealed moments after the music started. For her dance with Dave, Lisa, a big country music fan, picked “My Little Girl” by superstar Tim McGraw. She didn’t know when the song began that Dave strategically had her back to the stage.
A few seconds in, he told Lisa to turn around.
“It took me quite a while to process what exactly was happening,” Lisa told FOX. “It was amazing.”
The wedding guests were so focused on Lisa and Dave that it took everyone in the room at least 30 seconds to realize it, too. Then the pointing and gasping began as reality set in.
It’s no wonder why the wedding surprise went viral. But the clever and resourceful father refuses to reveal how he managed to pull it all off.
