Before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was just another American celebrity. Meghan’s first on-screen appearance took place in the early 2000s when she appeared on an episode of General Hospital.
After that, Meghan continued to get small television roles, including on shows like Century City, The War at Home, and CSI: NY. After that, she became a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal. She continued to get cast in small television and film roles for the next few years.
It wasn’t until 2011 that Meghan finally got her big break when she was cast as Rachel Zane on Suits. Meghan stayed on the show for seven seasons, only leaving once she started her relationship with Prince Harry.
In late 2017, around the same time that Meghan and Harry announced their engagement, Meghan finished filming the seventh season of Suits.
As Meghan became more and more involved with the royal family, she had to say goodbye to some of her old passions. When she and Prince Harry became betrothed, Meghan said farewell to her acting career, and later took down her website, The Tig, and removed all her social media accounts.
Now, the pregnant duchess is fully entrenched in royal life. She regularly makes appearances around the UK, and even went on a royal tour earlier this year.
Despite seeming happy with her new royal life, some fans hope that Meghan will one day return to her acting roots. With rumors swirling about Meghan potentially reprising her role on Suits, the show’s creator has finally opened up about the chances that duchess will play Rachel Zane once again.
