When we were kids, many of us often dreaded going to school. At some point, we all thought something to the effect of: When is learning quadratic equations or memorizing the periodic table actually going to help me in real life? But there are those memories about school that we look back upon fondly, and so often it is not just of our old friends and flames, but of the teachers who took notice of us and who nurtured us.

A Plus decided to ask a bunch of former students what they thought about a specific teacher who changed their lives. Little did they know that the teacher would be there, listening. As it turned out, it wasn’t only the former students who had been transformed; hearing how they impacted their students lives after all these years was actually what the teachers needed. The result is nothing short of moving.

“She was typically the teacher you got if you weren’t doing too well in school,” one woman says.

“She was just so good at what she did and instilled that confidence in me.”
