During the scorching summer months, staying cool is essential.
Some people do so by taking a dip in the swimming pool.
Others may reach for a few scoops of ice cream or even venture indoors to ice cold AC territory.
How do you cool off when the summer sun is too hot to handle?
Personally, my favorite way to beat the heat is to plop fresh fruit, ice, and vanilla yogurt into my trusty blender. After pouring myself a sweet smoothie, I can then sit on the back porch and enjoy the sunshine — without fear of being drained by the heat.
If you too are a fan of fruity summer drinks, then you are going to love this simple recipe for strawberry cider slushies!
It takes no longer than five to ten minutes to prepare the refreshing beverage; all you need is a few handfuls of frozen strawberry slices, three to four basil leaves, and a bottle of your favorite hard cider!
Although this recipe results in an adult beverage, you can make the drink kid-proof by simply substituting apple juice for hard cider. Now, the whole family can enjoy yummy slushies together!
