No matter who you are, your heart sinks when you hear of a child being diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

But can you imagine being that child’s parent, or even the child?

When Tracy Boucher found out that her 15-month-old daughter Jordyn had leukemia, her whole world seemed to crash down around her.

The battle went on for years, and despite various treatments, Jordyn’s cancer would still come back.

At 8 years old, her cancer returned for the third time, and doctors told the Bouchers that their little girl only had a few weeks left to live. They thought there was nothing they could do.

But then Boucher saw a St. Jude commercial about a little girl beating the odds of her own diagnosis. That’s when she called the hospital — and the timing couldn’t have been better.

When Jordyn finally arrived at St. Jude’s, 75 percent of her blood and bone marrow had leukemia. However, the hospital was just starting a new transplant procedure that could give her a chance at survival, and it ended up being a success. The procedure made Jordyn a cancer survivor rather than a cancer patient.

Now she gets to live her life as a healthy young woman. You’ll never guess how old she is today!
