Terminally Ill Veteran Breaks Down When His Son Reunites Him With His Long-Lost Motorcycle

by Lindsey Smith
Lindsey is from Florida and has worked in online and print media. Her happy place is Michaels craft store.

When Dwain was diagnosed with terminal cancer, his son, Mike, asked if there was anything he regretted.

Dwain responded that the one thing he will never forgive himself for is selling his 1982 Harley Davidson motorcycle. After learning this, Mike spent three years looking for the motorcycle. When he couldn’t find it, he asked his friend Dan to help him track it down.

As it turns out, Dan has a huge following on the YouTube channel Do It with Dan. He asked his fans to help him find the missing motorcycle, and in just a day, a stranger messaged where they could find the bike.

Mike wanted to surprise his dad, so he pretended he’d just bought a motorcycle similar to the old one. As you’ll see in the clip below, Mike handed his dad some of the accessories that came with the Harley. Within seconds, Dwain recognized a few parts.

“Mike, those are my saddlebags!” he exclaimed. “Mike, is this the bike?”

Mike pulled keys out of his pocket and handed them to his dad, saying, “This is your bike.” Mike helped his dad up so he could get a closer look at his long-lost motorcycle.

Dwain broke down in tears when Mike confirmed his speculation. “This is incredible,” Dwain said while crying. Watch the entire emotional surprise below.
