Snooki can’t wait to get back to the gym after giving birth, and she does not care one bit what you think about it.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi just welcomed her youngest son with husband Jionni LaValle. Baby Angelo is just over a week old, and Snooki has plunged straight back into “Mom of a Newborn” land, complete with mesh underwear, sleepless nights, and endless diapers.

The Jersey Shore star usually enjoys working out, but obviously, that’s not at all in the cards right now. She’s still healing and focusing on her baby — but hey, a gal can dream, right?

The mom of three posted a photo of her body four days postpartum.

In the caption, she wrote about how much she’s looking forward to getting “fit” again.

“Still healing but can’t wait to jump back into the gym hardcore this summer! Time to be a fit mawma again for my nuggets,” she wrote.

Some fans did not like that at all, and they criticized Snooki for promoting the harmful idea of “snapping back” after giving birth. In response, she basically told the critics to shut up.

“I’m allowed to look on the bright side of things and want to get back into shape,” she wrote. “Don’t punish me for that.”

Snooki and husband Jionni LaValle welcomed a baby, Angelo James LaValle, at the end of May. Angelo is their third child together.

As usual, Snooki is keeping it all the way real re: life after giving birth. She even posted a photo of the disposable mesh underwear from the hospital, joking about it being her new fashion collection.

She also posted a shot of the first moment that she got to hold baby Angelo.

And really, would you expect anything else from Snooki than absolute honesty?

So it’s not totally surprising that Snooki also opened up about her complicated feelings about her postpartum body.

She posted an Instagram photo of her body four days after giving birth.

She also admitted that she can’t wait to hit the gym and get “fit” again.

Snooki captioned the photo, “4 days postpartum & body is feeling good besides the fact that my cramps still feel like contractions!”

“Still healing but can’t wait to jump back into the gym hardcore this summer! Time to be a fit mawma again for my nuggets,” she wrote.

But a lot of women have fought hard against the notion that women have to “snap back” and get skinny immediately after giving birth, and they were upset by Snooki’s caption.

“Why is there so much pressure to bounce back? Why is there so much focus on how flat a new moms belly is?” one commenter asked.

“Is this really necessary????” another agreed.

“God forbid you don’t look skinny days after birth… there’s women out here struggling months after to lose weight but you just HAVE to show everyone how thin you look already! This is like the fourth pic of your body you posted.. we get it!”

Snooki being Snooki, she edited the caption to respond directly to the critics.

“Receiving backlash because I can’t wait to get in the gym and get fit again? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but don’t attack me for wanting to become strong and fit again after my pregnancy,” she wrote in her update.

She pointed out that her body is in a lot of discomfort and pain right now.

“My boobs are leaking and pulsating, my butthole is sore and my cramps are unbearable & I’m still wearing a diaper the size of Texas. Postpartum is a b***h,” she wrote.

And that’s exactly why she’s dreaming about getting back to the body she enjoys.

“But I’m allowed to look on the bright side of things and want to get back into shape. Don’t punish me for that,” she said.

Snooki also received a lot of commentary and advice about her recovery, for which she thanked her followers.

“THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ADVICE ON HOW TO DEAL WITH RECOVERY! I’m still keeping my diaper on for weeks tho,” she said.

Fans were supportive of Snooki’s clapback. It’s definitely not a bad thing to want to be in good shape, and in Snooki’s case, she wants to do it for herself as well as for her children.

Given her love of selfies, we’ll get to follow every step of her journey along the way.
