After her divorce, Truth Bomb Mom Kristina Kuzmic was a single mother of two young kids, and the last thing on her mind was dating.

Eventually, Kristina allowed herself to get back into the dating game, but when she found herself falling for someone, she was hesitant to truly open up to being in love.

“I just thought, ‘I’m going to air all my trash to this person. I’m going to make sure he knows all my flaws and imperfections… and he’s going to run as fast as he can.'”

To Kristina’s surprise, her new beau stuck around despite her “baggage,” and she even introduced him to her two children. However, this still wasn’t enough to convince Kristina that he really wanted all her baggage.

A few weeks after introducing him to her kids, Kristina called her boyfriend, frantic.

“I was woken up in the middle of the night — with my 3-year-old just screaming and projectile-vomiting,” says Kristina. “And I think, ‘Why would any sane man sign up for this?’ So I pick up the phone, and I call Philip… wake him up. And I said, ‘You say you want this? Then come on over.’ He was at my apartment within 20 minutes.”

Instead of being scared away, Philip stepped up to the challenge. Immediately, he took Kristina to her room and tucked her into bed, then left to take care of the mess happening in the kids’ room.

Today, Kristina and Philip are married, and they even have a third child together. By not allowing her insecurities to take control, Kristina was able to find a man who’s perfect for her and her family in every way.

Being a single parent is hard, but settling for someone who isn’t right for your family is even tougher. Check out Kristina and Philip’s inspiring love story below, and make sure to SHARE this advice with any moms you know!
