Moriah Barnhart is a single mother of two children, 10-year-old Daylon and 4-year-old Dahlia. When Dahlia was 2, she was diagnosed with brain cancer, and while Moriah would do anything for her daughter, the condition has been a financial strain.

“I laid with her in a hospital bed 24 hours a day for several months. There was nothing else but trying to save her life,” the mother said. Moriah lost her job and has been since moving city to city to find Dahlia the best treatment.

Jobless and unable to afford a stable home, Moriah still continued to volunteer to help children with cancer. Her courage and resilience didn’t go unnoticed. When her friend Maria heard a local lawyer named Mark Stopa was holding a contest to give away a free house, Maria knew she had to enter on behalf of Moriah.

She wrote a letter detailing the single mom’s hard work and compassion. Moriah had no idea.

Like single mom Angel on Undercover Boss, sometimes moms just need a helping hand to let them know they’re on the right track. In the video, Mark sits Moriah down and lets her know that she has won a free house for her and her two kids.

“I’m just in shock. It seems unreal. I’m really hoping I’m not dreaming,” she says when she gets the news. “I’m eternally grateful that he even had this in his mind, much less that he worked so hard to bring it to fruition.”
