Man Blow-Dries Silver Glitter Onto Patch Of Wet Paint To Completely Transform Boring Room

by Jess Butler
Jess is a curly-haired Jersey girl who adores penguins and watches the worst reality shows on TV.

When makeup artist Cair Malloy wanted to liven up an accent wall in her room, she and her boyfriend, Michael Painter, decided to do something a little different.

“I am a makeup artist and we have been remodeling my studio,” Clair told LittleThings. “We researched and tested all different techniques to get the solid glitter finish for an accent wall. Glitter paint wasn’t sparkly enough and it was too sheer, it was also very expensive. Glitter wallpaper was gorgeous, but $400 for that size wall when we priced it out and it’s hard to remove wallpaper.”

Then, she revealed their clever idea.

In the video below, Michael sits on his knees with a roller fully loaded with regular white paint. He spreads it around in a small patch on the wall to demonstrate his work on the glitter wall. After he has his area of wet paint, he reaches over to a paper plate and a gray tub filled with sparkly silver glitter. He then pours the glitter into the folded plate.

Next, he picks up a regular blow-dryer and holds the plate up to the wet paint spot. He slowly and carefully blow-dries the silver glitter from the plate onto the wall in front of it.

Soon the entire wall is covered. Clair explained that they sweep up the fallen glitter and reuse it for the next coat and added that she and Michael haven’t experienced shedding just yet, but will seal the glitter wall if it starts.

In the end, Clair says, “I love you,” thanking Michael for all his hard work on the creative studio room.
