Losing a pet can be absolutely devastating, especially when that pet was considered to be part of the family. It appears that the loss of a beloved furry friend can be the hardest on a child who’s bonded with that cat, dog, or any other animal at home.
This was the case for Bella’s family. The adorable Maltese and Pomeranian mix was stolen from near her owner’s business in Florida. They searched high and low for her, but with no luck.
The family’s 3-year-old, who had become quite fond of the pooch, was especially devastated.
But then, just last week, a woman in New Jersey found Bella on the street, looking like a scraggly and dirty dog. She took the pup to a vet, and it was discovered that she was microchipped!
A quick scan revealed that her family was hundreds of miles away.
A groomer cleaned Bella up and left her looking as good as new before her owners were able to be reunited with her, seeing her for the first time in three years.
We’re sure they’re relieved Bella is safe and sound, especially after so much time has passed!
This serves just as another important reminder to all pet owners to microchip your furry friends — you never know when it will come in handy.
Please SHARE if you’re glad Bella is back where she belongs!
