When the holidays come around, it’s a tradition for many families to bring their kids to meet Santa Claus and tell him what they want for Christmas.

One couple took their daughter to meet him on December 6, 2015, and they were in for a bit of an early Christmas present.

Santa asked the little girl what she wanted for Christmas and, at first glance, it looks like she ignores him. Her mom notifies Santa that “she can’t talk very well” and is hard of hearing.

But that’s not going to stop Saint Nick from learning what she wants for Christmas.

“Does she sign or anything?” he asked her parents. Her mom said that the girl was learning, but it didn’t seem like she expected Santa to sign with her little one. Santa then taps the little girl and begins using sign language to ask her what she wants for Christmas!

It’s absolutely amazing to see someone go the extra mile to include kids with all abilities in Christmas fun. Something that might seem so little had a huge impact on this little girl and her parents.

The two signed to each other for about 15 seconds, and Santa learned she wants a scooter. See the heartwarming interaction below!
