You’ve been neglecting something major in your kitchen. That’s right. Your poor, neglected salt shaker is just sitting there, wondering why you aren’t making the most of his wares.
Salt has many uses, and added some flavor to food just barely scratches the surface. Those white crystals that perch on your pretzels are composed of sodium chlorite, a substance with lean, mean cleaning powers and so much more.
What are your favorite uses for salt? If I missed any, please leave me comments below! Don’t forget to please SHARE this post with your friends! Thank you.
Hands stink of fish, but soap won’t do the trick? Have you tried everything – from citrus to vodka? Rub wet hands with about a tablespoon of salt. Not only will you get a nice exfoliation, but when you rinse off, the stink will be gone. Magic!
2. Get rid of nasty stains on your coffee cups for good
We all love coffee, but America’s favorite comforting brew can seriously destroy your mugs and cups. Add a single tablespoon of salt to just about ANY type of vinegar to eliminate stains and salvage your favorite doggy mug. (You know that’s the only one you want to save!)
3. Never worry about a red wine spill on your carpet again
This works for everything…even red wine. Blot the stain with a damp sponge, then generously pour salt over it. Next, let it set for 8 hours and go on with your life. In the morning, the salt will have sucked up all of the wine. The salt literally draws liquid out of the carpet!
This one will make you a real hit at your next family barbecue! In all seriousness, if you suffer a sting and are allergic you should see a doctor immediately, but if you just HATE bee stings like the rest of us, wet a compress with water and then cover the sting with salt. Epsom salt is ideal, but in a pinch table salt with soothe the burn as well.
