Ryan Seacrest wears a lot of hats. He has hosted American Idol for the past 18 years. He’s also the cohost of Live With Kelly and Ryan, hosts his daily morning radio show, and produces several television shows.

This past week, American Idol aired its season finale. Ryan, 45, has been hosting the competition live from his home, speaking to the judges and contestants over video chat.

During the episode, viewers at home noticed Ryan appearing to slur his speech. Then, his right eye seemed to suddenly swell up.

Many fans wondered if he had suffered a stroke on live TV.

By the time Samantha Diaz was named the winner of season 18, it looked as though Ryan was back to normal.

He has since released a statement through his rep. “Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home,” the rep told CNN.

Watch the clip below to see what Ryan has to say about those concerns he had a stroke.
