Let’s face it: nobody likes going in for surgery. That big fear of the unknown can make even the bravest of us think twice. The same goes for Ruby, an adorable dog who was scheduled for her own surgery.
Ruby was brought into the Fox Hollow Animal Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado, for surgery, and the poor pup found herself very nervous.
But never fear, Dr. Ross Henderson was there to help!
Dr. Ross, a veterinarian at the hospital, is no stranger to performing surgery, meaning he’s also no stranger to dealing with nervous animals.
The good doctor figured out a way to comfort them.
“Whether it’s just the one-on-one attention or the soothing melodies, we don’t know!” said Darcy Holloway, the practice manager.
In the video below, you will see exactly how Dr. Ross comforted and soothed Ruby’s nerves before her surgery.
All he needed was his guitar and his smooth voice.
“Sometimes your patient just needs you to go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable when they’re here for the day to have surgery,” the hospital said in a post on their Facebook page. “Dr. Ross has mastered the technique, and sweet Ruby was so thankful for that.”
