It’s been one year since the death of country star, wife, and mother Joey Feek, who passed away on March 4, 2016, after a brave battle with cervical cancer.

Of course, it’s been a difficult year of adjustment for the Feek family, particularly husband Rory Feek and daughter Indy. This first anniversary opens up fresh wounds for Rory, who used social media to commemorate his late wife. He posted three photos, one of her with family, one of her grave, and the last of them together, with the captions, “…remembering you,” “…missing you,” and “…loving you.”

These simple words sum up Rory’s heartbreak — and though he has the support of his whole family, friends, and fans, the pain from his wife’s passing still appears to be fresh.

Joey Feek’s grave is located at the couple’s farm in Tennessee. Rory says he often sits by his wife’s side there, sometimes with their daughter.

With Joey’s absence, the past year has been a difficult one for the family, especially as they face many adjustments.

Rory regularly involves his late wife in everyday activities, whether it’s simply sitting by her grave or writing about how much he hopes daughter Indy takes after music the way her mother did.

But it’s not only her family who will remember Joey — countless fans will allow her music and soul to live on!
