Robert Irwin Says ‘Car’ On ‘Family Feud,’ But Steve Is Confused By His Australian Accent

The Irwins are one of my favorite famous families. “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin was known for always being good-natured and personable. Based on Bindi’s Dancing with the Stars participation and Robert’s own talk show appearances, his kids seem to have grown up to be much like their late father.

On June 11, 2017, the Irwin family appeared on a celebrity edition of Family Feud and had a goofy moment of miscommunication with Steve Harvey.

In the video clip, with the Irwins playing against Chrissy Metz and her family, Steve turns to Robert for his answer to the survey question. Robert has one last chance to name something a 5-year-old might ask a bank to loan him money to buy.

Robert’s response? “A car.”

Hilariously, Steve’s befuddled facial expression shows that he doesn’t have a clue what the 13-year-old boy is saying.

Robert’s heavy Australian accent, shared with his late dad and his sister, Bindi, totally stumps the host.

His mom, Terri, who was born and raised in the United States and doesn’t share her kids’ thick Aussie accent, realizes Steve’s confusion and repeats to him what her son said, but in a more familiar American accent.

Check out Steve’s silly reaction to Robert’s answer and the over-the-top way they mimic each other’s accents in the video below.
