Fifteen-year-old Robert Brown III was filling out a job application while having breakfast with his father on August 26, 2017, when, all of a sudden, he collapsed inside the restaurant and had a heart attack.
“Just seeing him on the ground, my baby — I couldn’t believe what was going on,” recalled his dad, Robert Brown II.
Luckily for the teen, a stranger who was dining nearby jumped into action and ran over to Robert to perform CPR.
“They said I am the luckiest person,” the teen said. “Shoot, if that lady wasn’t there to save me, I would be gone.”
Robert’s mother died from the same heart defect a decade earlier, and Robert told reporters that it was her face he saw.
Moments later, he heard someone asking his name.
“Next thing I know, I got shocked in my heart, and I woke up,” he said.
After being rushed to the hospital, doctors gave Robert a pacemaker to help his heart. The doctors told him that if it wasn’t for the mysterious woman who performed continuous CPR, he would not have made it out of the restaurant alive.
“I’m truly grateful,” his dad said. “Again, if she’s out there and she listening, I would definitely love to see her — meet her again, give her a big hug, tell her I love her. Thank you for what you did.”
The teen added: “I just want her to come see me. I am just happy she saved my life. I just want to see her one more time.”
