A simple thank-you can go so far — especially when it’s from an animal.
When a family was on vacation, they spotted an octopus on the beach and learned he was in trouble. They helped him back into the ocean and ended up saving his life. Little did they know, their interaction with the rescued octopus wasn’t going to end there.
In the video below, posted on July 18, 2017, the family starts filming a shadow they see in the water after they realize it is the same octopus they rescued the day before.
The octopus heads straight for the family. He stays with them for an entire hour and tries to touch them the entire time. It seems as if this is his way of thanking them for everything they did to save his life.
The family keeps filming, intrigued by the octopus’ behavior. Their rescue means so much more to the octopus than they ever thought it would.
Clearly, this sea creature couldn’t get enough of his rescuers.
In the end, the family decided to name him Kurt and agreed to never eat octopus again in his honor.
What do you think of this octopus’ journey to see the people who helped him back into the water?
