Incredible Repair Café Brings Community Together To Fix People’s Old Or Broken Belongings

There are few things quite as depressing as having to throw away something you love simply because it doesn’t work properly anymore.

From a childhood blanket filled with holes, to a bike with a broken chain, to a vintage television that no longer works, our landfills are full of items that have become too old or broken to keep around any longer.

Repair Café is changing all of that.

Repair Café has locations all across the world, with new ones popping up all of the time. At any of these truly unique cafés, people can bring in items that are broken or damaged for a free repair lesson by fellow members of the community.

People with very specific skills  like sewing or electronic repair  gather to help teach others how to salvage belongings that would otherwise be thrown in the trash.

According to the Repair Café website, “Visitors bring their broken items from home. Together with the specialists they start making their repairs… It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.”

Watch the exclusive video below to see how Repair Café is making a difference in communities and in the lives of individuals worldwide.

This brilliant idea is bringing entire communities together, and giving life to some of our most important forgotten treasures.
