The ocean is one of the great wonders of the world, if you ask me. Everything about the deep unknown is intriguing and fascinating to someone like me — who doesn’t study the ocean and all of its creatures.

Which is exactly why the video below mesmerized me, and it may just do the same for you.

The footage captures an exotic floating fish called the Spanish dancer fish. Its bright red color, contrasted with the deep blue of the water, is reason enough to stop and watch.

But as it moves throughout the water, it almost looks as if it’s a red scarf just floating around, abandoned at sea. When you realize what it is you’re truly looking at, however, you’ll notice the intricate movements and tiny details that are on the sides of the red creature.

Vitaly Bazarov is the diver who recorded this incredible footage. He had been planning on heading back up to the surface, off the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. That is, until he saw this magnificent fish, which is a kind of sea slug.

The dancing fish is a creature many people may not know about. After watching this video, though, I have a feeling you might want to know more.

Can you imagine how many other beautiful and unique creatures there are under the sea?
