Football Player Breaks Away From Partner In Tears After Dance, Drops To His Knees To Hug Dad

In past seasons of Dancing with the Stars, audiences at home have been overwhelmingly taken with at least one contestant. If you’re a fan of the show, surely you remember how talented both Bindi Irwin and Simone Biles were when they showed off their moves!

This season seems to have a clear frontrunner in NFL running back Rashad Jennings, who earned a near-perfect score for his contemporary dance with partner Emma, the highest of the season so far.

But that’s not the only part of his performance that’s making fans talk. The theme of the dance was “unconditional love,” and Rashad dedicated it to his father.

During the show, Rashad opened up about their relationship. They were not close when he was growing up, but his dad provided for him and the rest of his family. The football player is still very family oriented. So when his dad got sick and had to have his leg amputated, Rashad turned down an incredible football scholarship in order to be closer to him.

Since then, his relationship with his father has gotten much stronger.

So, it was only appropriate for Rashad to end the dance by getting on his knees and embracing his tearful dad as the rest of the audience gave him a standing ovation.

You can watch the emotional moment in the clip below.
