Senior Dog Adopts An Orphaned Baby Raccoon — And He Can’t Stop Smiling About It

Ally is a born-and-bred Jersey Girl who studied English and Journalism at Rutgers University. In her free time, she spends too much money on food, continues the endless search for her next favorite book, and fails to use her gym membership on a daily basis. She comes from a huge, crazy family that sells Fish & Chips for a living and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

As far as unlikely animal friends go, these two might be my absolute favorite.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of all unusual animal buddies, but a baby raccoon and elderly dog who’s going gray around the mouth are a hard act to follow.

Just wait until you see the smile on this raccoon; it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. His crazy personality comes bursting right through.

And it’s 10-year-old Roxy who’s got him beaming from ear to ear.

Jonathon, the 4-month-old raccoon, had recently lost his mother when Roxy’s family took him in.

Roxy had always been partial to babies, so it was no surprise when the dog immediately warmed up to Jonathon.

Now, the two are inseparable.

Jonathon climbs all over Roxy and the dog doesn’t even flinch — she has the patience of a saint.

And it’s so sweet to see the way that Jonathon always seems to be trying to get just a little bit closer to Roxy. He can’t get enough of his best friend!

It’s hilarious to see this little baby reaching as far and as high as he can to hold Roxy’s attention and maintain a constant state of adorable snuggles.
