PSA Reminds Us Of The Harsh Possible Repercussions Of Using Prescription Painkillers

This is one of those videos that everyone should watch at least once. Health issues, prescriptions, and medical situations in general are too often handled without enough care.

When this young girl goes into the hospital with her parents, it seems all they’re worried about is her broken arm.

But what that soon leads to are the harsh realities of prescription painkillers being linked to heroin.

That may sound extreme, and this video is definitely to the point and stern, but that’s how it should be.

There are so many quick fixes that addicts use to get their high. Some have even been caught using antidiarrheal drugs to do so.

The possibilities are endless, and in no way should, kids especially, be prescribed drugs that work just the same as heroin if not used and prescribed appropriately.

There are clearly pros and cons, and situations where these prescription painkillers are necessary and definitely can help without hurting someone.

But we have to keep in mind the necessity is not always there, especially for a kid with a broken arm.

Addiction is real, and it needs to be a topic of conversation, so that we don’t have more people taken from life far too soon. This obituary from a family who lost their loved one to addiction might be worth the watch if you know someone struggling, too.
