Congratulations are in order for the royals yet again!

On January 22, 2018, the royal family announced via their official social media accounts that the Queen’s granddaughter, Princess Eugenie of York, is engaged to marry her longtime boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank.

Princess Eugenie’s parents, the Duke and Duchess of York, shared the news with an official statement on Twitter. The statement explained that the couple became engaged in Nicaragua earlier this month. The wedding is set to take place in the fall of 2018 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Coincidentally, that is the exact same venue that Eugenie’s cousin, Prince Harry, has chosen for his own May 2018 wedding to former actress Meghan Markle.

Along with the engagement announcement, royal family officials also shared pictures from the couple’s engagement photo shoot, taken earlier today.

One photo was a close-up of the 27-year-old royal’s stunning and unique engagement ring, which contains a padparadscha sapphire (a pinkish-orange gemstone) surrounded by diamonds.

According to People, the couple has been dating for about seven years.

Princess Eugenie’s engagement is just the latest in a string of exciting announcements from the family over the past few months, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge expecting their third child, Prince Harry’s engagement, and Zara Tindall expecting her second child.
