Most women are thrilled to introduce their newborn babies to their family members.
New parents always want to show off their infants to friends and family — these little miracles deserve to be fawned over by everyone.
When the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, gave birth to her baby girl on May 2, 2015, she knew her infant would have a lifetime of meeting other royals ahead of her.
There’s one royal family member she’d never get to meet, though: her grandmother, Princess Diana, who died after a car accident in August 1997.
Duchess Kate also never got to meet her mother-in-law. As we all know Kate’s husband, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, loved his mother dearly.
Despite this, a photo that went viral after it was posted in 2015 seems to show Princess Diana, Kate, and Princess Charlotte altogether.
The vintage-looking photo shows Kate holding Charlotte before her christening service, while Diana lovingly leans over her.

Although they never got to meet, this photo clearly shows Princess Diana staring happily at her granddaughter, Princess Charlotte.
The photo went viral, with over 31,000 likes on Facebook and almost 550,000 shares.
The vintage-looking photo is actually the product of an excellent Photoshop job.
The original image was created by Lori Vee Eastwood, who shared it on July 26, 2015.
As she explains, “I am a beginner to photoshop… I created this out of Love.”
This image is haunting and beautiful, showing the merging of many generations of a family.
The photo of Kate and Charlotte was taken before Charlotte’s christening. Meanwhile, the photo of Diana originally came from the princess’ meeting with Mother Teresa just two months before her death.
Princess Diana was known for her charity work, as well as her sensationalized relationship and marriage with Charles, Prince of Wales.
Diana gave birth to William and Henry (familiarly known as Harry) before she and Charles divorced in 1996.
Diana’s son, William, married Kate Middleton in 2011, almost 15 years after Diana’s death.
According to Country Living, William has made sure that his mother’s memory will live on, even though his wife and children never got to meet her.
In fact, just recently, William and Harry announced via Instagram that a statue will soon be made to honor their dearly-missed mother.
A statue of Diana, Princess of Wales will be erected in the grounds of Kensington Palace at the request of her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry said: “It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue.
“Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.”
While the sculpting of the statue will begin soon, it is not currently possible to advise when it will be unveiled. It is hoped that this will occur before the end of 2017.
Diana was further honored when Princess Charlotte was born: one of her middle names is Diana, in memory of her deceased and much-beloved grandmother.
This beautiful image shows what it might have been like if Charlotte, Kate, and Diana had ever gotten to meet.
Although it’s a little eerie, it’s mostly just a stunning picture.
