The world has been pretty transfixed on newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — ahem, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — but don’t forget: They’re not the only fairy-tale-worthy couple the British royal family has to show for.
After falling in love as college students, Prince William and then-commoner Kate Middleton tied the knot in April 2011 to all sorts of global fanfare. They’ve had a busy few years since, what with their various philanthropic endeavors, royal obligations as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and, of course, the task of raising three adorable children together: Prince George, 4; Princess Charlotte, 3; and Prince Louis, 2 months.
That’s not to say Will and Kate’s love has fizzled out, though. In fact, a photo the former took on his recent royal visit to the Middle East proves just the opposite.
We've been obsessed with William forever.
We first met him in June 1982, when he was born to Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
Both Will and his younger brother Harry grew up in the public eye.
And it’s no secret that both young royals were total ’90s teen heartthrobs.
Will and Kate met in 2001, when they were both 19.
Will and Kate were both studying at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland at the time. They graduated together in 2005, he with a degree in geology and she with a degree in art history.
Will and Kate's budding relationship was covered heavily in the British press.
Kate made all sorts of headlines after she was caught calling Will “so, so sexy” at the 2006 Sovereign’s Parade — the first major event she attended as his guest.
Will and Kate got engaged in Kenya in 2010.
As you may recall, Will proposed to his girlfriend with a sapphire ring that once belonged to his late mother.
They tied the knot in the spring of 2011.
Experts estimated that their wedding was watched by approximately 22.77 million people in the US.
And they welcomed their first child together two years later.
Prince George was born on July 22, 2013. His sister, Princess Charlotte, arrived two years later, and his little brother, Prince Louis, was born this past April.
Both Will and Kate have maintained busy schedules while raising their kids.
They have all sorts of obligations to fulfill as royals. Here, they’re pictured boarding a seaplane on the final day of their 2016 Royal Tour of Canada.
Earlier this week, Will jetted off to Jordan to begin a royal tour of the Middle East.
Kate wanted to be there, too, but the trip was too soon after Louis’ birth.
So Will took it upon himself to re-create a 30-year-old photo from Kate's childhood.
Kate and her family lived in Jordan when she was a toddler and had snapped a photo at the same ruins Will visited on his royal tour.
How cute is that?!
According to Daily Mail reporter Rebecca English, Will jokingly referred to the spot as “Catherine’s Rock.” Aww!
People on Twitter thought that Will's gesture was SO sweet.
Kensington Palace’s tweet about Will’s photo has been liked by more than 14,200 people (and counting).
Apparently, Kate was on her husband’s mind even though she’s back home in England with their kids.
What a strong, special bond Will and Kate have. It’s clear they’re living their happily ever after!
