The royal family is so proud of Kate Middleton’s hard work. The Duchess of Cambridge has been working with landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White to create a show garden for the Royal Horticultural Society Chelsea Flower Show.
It’s just the beginning for Kate, who is set to work on at least three other gardens with the designers.
The theme of the garden is “Back to Nature,” encouraging families to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Kate brought her own kids, who gave a helping hand, to check out the completed garden before it opened. While there, William and Kate played with George, Charlotte, and Louis in the woodland garden.
The royal family released photos and videos of the excursion, and they are simply adorable.
During a sweet video that shows George giving his mom’s garden a 20 out of 10 rating, fans heard Prince William refer to his daughter by a sweet nickname they hadn’t heard him use before.
The royal family recently went out to celebrate Kate Middleton’s latest project. The Duchess of Cambridge has collaborated with landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White to create a show garden for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The theme of the garden is “Back to Nature.” It fits into the bigger picture of Kate’s work as a royal patron, which is largely dedicated to improving children’s experiences in early childhood to give them a good foundation for their physical and mental health.
Before the garden was officially open, Kate brought her family there to give them a sneak peek. In fact, her kids even helped out!
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis helped their mom by gathering moss, leaves, and twigs used to decorate. They collected the materials from their Amner Hall country residence, which was part of the inspiration for the woodland garden.
It seems like the garden was a total hit with the Cambridge children. Photos show George and Charlotte dipping their toes in the stream.
Prince Louis may not be ready to keep up with his older siblings just yet, but he seemed to enjoy himself running around with a stick in hand. He also got some time on the swing thanks to mom and dad.
One of the sweet moments the family shared is when Prince William asked George what he would rate the garden out of 10. The little prince enthusiastically gave it a 20.
At the end of the video, Prince William is heard calling out to Princess Charlotte. He doesn’t call her by her name, however.
Earlier this year, we learned that Kate refers to her little girl as Lottie. But that isn’t the name Prince William used either.
Instead, he called his daughter “Mignonette.” It’s a French term of endearment meaning delicate or cute — what a sweet nickname!
It’s a perfect nickname for the darling little girl, who celebrated her fourth birthday earlier this month.
The next day, Kate showed the garden to some local schoolchildren. During the event, she noted how she was surprised by some of her kids’ actions the day prior.
Kate remarked that her children “played last night in a way I hadn’t imagined. They were throwing stones. I hadn’t actually thought that that was what they would be doing.”
The Cambridge children certainly look at ease in the great outdoors. They may be the future of the monarchy, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun getting messy in a woodland paradise.
