It’s been a big week for Prince Harry. On November 27, 2017, the royal family announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had gotten engaged to be married!

In the few days that have passed since the announcement, the media attention on the couple has been out of this world.

People immediately wanted to know more about Meghan’s ring, the couple’s wedding plans, their plans to start a family, the rest of the royal family’s opinions of the couple, and more.

But there’s something unrelated to the engagement about Prince Harry that’s recently come to light as well. This time, it’s about his hand placement in pictures.

Yes, his hand placement.

In lots of photographs, Prince Harry can be seen with his hand on his suit button or resting on his stomach.

What does this mean? Well, body language experts are weighing in on the strange way Prince Harry stands, and apparently, it says a lot about his personality.

Here’s the photo that’s been all over the web recently, featuring Prince Harry and his new fiancée, Meghan Markle.

Of course, Meghan has been the focus of the picture (because she looks absolutely stunning — and just look at that ring!), but there’s something interesting going on with Prince Harry as well.

In the picture, you’ll notice that Prince Harry has his hand tucked into his suit jacket, just under the top button.

He’s resting his hand on his stomach, but why?

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Harry has posed like this in a picture.

He’s done it a number of other times as well.

So why does Prince Harry stand like this in certain pictures, but not in others?

According to some body language experts, it probably has something to do with his personality traits.

Expert and author Traci Brown told GoodHousekeeping that Prince Harry’s habit of holding his hand this way shows that he’s slightly uncomfortable.

He’s covering the vital organs in his body, showing that he’s protecting himself from an awkward situation, media attention, or new people.

Another expert, Blanca Cobb, echoed Traci’s analysis.

Blanca explained that this hand placement is Prince Harry’s way of keeping his guard up. He’s separating himself from the situation and putting up a physical barrier that mimics his emotional barrier.

This position also means that he’s feeling protective of those around him, which is probably why he’s standing like this in his engagement photos.

Prince Harry also tends to play with the button on his suit jacket, fiddle with his belt, and tug at his clothing.

These behaviors show that he’s subconsciously uncomfortable or stressed (similar to twirling your hair or bouncing your foot).

When Prince Harry is feeling more comfortable, like when he and Meghan are laughing together, he looks a lot more at ease.

We all have habits that make us feel less anxious and stressed, and this seems to be one of his!

It looks like Prince Harry is most himself when he’s just having a good time with friends and loved ones.

Luckily for him, he has a lot of family time coming up in his future with Meghan Markle.

Plus, the two of them will live right near his brother William, and his lovely niece and nephew.
